System Prompts

Via System Prompts, you define which fixed instructions the AI receives with every new chat. The prompt is not visible in the conversation, but it does steer, among other things, tone, explanation style, target audience, and content boundaries.

Two tabs

In Environment, you set the base prompt for all staff and students. Under Schools and groups, you only add exceptions where additional context is needed. This keeps the overview compact.

Choose Add school exception.
Select the school and open Configure.
If desired, choose Load groups to add a group exception.
Enter only the prompt that is additionally needed at that level and save.

The server combines prompts from general to specific:

the built-in default prompt;
the environment prompt;
the school prompt;
for students: the group prompt;
any personal system prompt.

A lower-level prompt therefore does not replace a higher-level prompt. Use the environment level for fixed rules and exceptions for local context.

Prompts by role

Staff: teachers, administrators, and other staff. For them, environment and school are combined.
Students: for them, environment, school, and group are combined.

With View default system prompt, you can see the built-in prompt. With Use default prompt, you reset the current input to that text. If a field is empty, AI-School automatically uses the default prompt.

Example

First explain concepts in simple terms and then move toward subject-specific language.
When giving assignments, provide hints and thought steps, but not the full answer right away.
Answer in Dutch.

Always test a change in a new chat; existing chats may already have started with older context.
